FAQs

The following questions have been answered for you by Diamond Forest Cottages...

What are your breakfast options?
Many of our guests find that barbecue is the quickest and easiest for meals or we can recommend one of the lovely restaurants or wineries in the area. Manjimup has a Coles and Woolworths and cafes for meals and is less than 10 minutes drive. Lavender & Berry Farm is about 15 minutes drive, opens at 9:30 am and does berry pancakes to die for.
What transport is available to get around?
TransWA runs a bus/train service from Perth to this area but own transport or hire car would be necessary to get around down here.
What can I do nearby?
We have lots of animals for our guests to enjoy, and all love pats and attention and can be handfed - cows and calves, sheep and lambs, ducks, chickens, goats and kids, red kangaroo and baby grey kangaroo, miniature horses, an alpaca, a thoroughbred horse, donkeys, dogs, cat, rabbits, peafowl, turkeys, galahs, budgies and weeros. There is even a cuddly animal petting zoo. Many of our guests love to help us feed the animals each morning and they are also welcome to use the canoes, try their luck fishing for rainbow trout on the dam (catch and release), watch a dvd or video from our library or just wander the property and enjoy the scenery and space. We also have a picnic pavillion overlooking the dam and a games room with lounge area, tv, video, stereo, air hockey table and foosball table. All these facilities and activities are free of charge and only for our guests staying on the property.

The drive from Perth takes about three and a half to four hours. We are 40 minutes walk to the Diamond Tree (fire lookout tree that can be climbed), 10 minutes drive to Manjimup and 15 minutes drive to Pemberton. We are within five to 20 minutes drive of most of the local wineries and tourist attractions. An hour's drive to Walpole will take guests to the Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk. An hour in the other direction will take them to Windy Harbour, Northcliffe and the D'Entrecasteaux National Park where they will see beautiful views from the cliffs high above the ocean or may choose to explore the Northcliffe Sculpture Park - "Understory". These little "jaunts" can be a pleasant half day tour.
Do you have internet?
We do not have internet access at each of the cottages, however we do have wireless internet access at the office/reception where guests may either use our computers to log into their account to view their emails or they can use their own computer in our office, or on the step outside the office if we are unavailable. We do not charge for internet access as we allow guests to access their emails but we do not allow internet surfing.
Do you provide parking?
There is plenty of parking at our cottages.
