Things to do in Bilgah

Off the beach, you can visit landmarks like Nardaran Mosque. The oldest parts of the beautiful sandstone building date to the 17th century. The mosque is a beautiful example of traditional Shirvan architecture and features four soaring minarets and an impressive central dome.

It’s a fascinating combination of East and West, with grand European buildings standing alongside beautiful Islamic mosques and ultra-modern skyscrapers. The Old City has UNESCO status and is encircled by ancient walls. Inside you’ll find a tangle of tree-lined streets and elegant stone mansions.

Iconic Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid designed the striking Heydar Aliyev Centre. You’ll be amazed by the curved lines and wave-like aesthetic of the building. Snap photos in front of the jaw-dropping exterior, then head inside to visit the fantastic Treasures of Azerbaijan exhibit. The centre also moonlights as a venue for concerts and touring art exhibitions.

Getting around Bilgah
