About Clacton-on-Sea

Nestled on the Tendring Peninsula, Clacton-on-Sea has been the region’s most popular seaside resort since the 1950s. It boasts a traditional boardwalk, award-winning seafront gardens, golf courses and theatres.

Clacton Pier boasts almost three hectares of entertainment space, including arcade games, fairground rides, a bowling centre and SeaQuarium for kids. Browse the side stalls selling beach trinkets and souvenirs, then relax with cocktails at Boardwalk Bar.

Near the pier, you’ll find the main Clacton Beach with a long promenade for windswept walks and a sandy strip for sunbathing and swimming. Explore the 16 hectares of pristine coastline to find smaller beaches and bays that stretch from Clacton Pier to Holland Haven or spend an afternoon birdwatching in Holland Haven Country Park.

Walk the Treasure Trail starting on Station Road, where clues are posted on buildings and monuments to help you crack codes on a mission to see the pier, promenade, seafront gardens and historic sites.
