Arrived a little earlier than planned but no problem, I had one of the easiest most efficient check- ins ever, it was literally a minute or so as my room had already been allocated and the room keys and paperwork were waiting for me, very impressive. Very smart foyer gives a great first impression, very helpful bell man who actually remembered my name each time I saw him during my stay, he also offered some good advice on the surrounding area. The Hotel bar is rather expensive, this is not a problem as you are opposite the 'Jacksonville Landing' with its multitude of bars, shops and restaurants, it is right on the river and is a great place to spend some time, you can take a water taxi from here across the river, alternatively the free monorail has a stop just a block from the Hotel. The breakfasts are still one of the best that I have encountered in the US, great choice and really good quality, forget opting for peanut butter on your toast, why not go for the cashew or almond butter? Healthy choices as well as cooked selections are available in a buffet format. The Hotel runs various special offers throughout the year and it pays to be aware of them. I don't think their parking charge is too expensive, but there are often packages available that include valet parking and breakfast, definitely worth looking at. I had a river view room on the 14th floor and was more than happy with my stay there, if I had one thing to gripe about it would be the size of the bath tub, (small), but as so many US Hotels seem to have this type of tub, it is really of little consequence. The Hotel is well situated close to the main road networks, (although these do not run past the Hotel), which makes visiting all parts of the surrounding area easy. This is an excellent Hotel and I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend it to anyone visiting the Jacksonville area.
