LikedExcellent location, the hotel is located on the bank of the Rhine, from the train station to hotel five minutes for walk only. The staff is friendly and the free breakfast is quite generous. When I open the curtains in my room, it's amazing I can see the vineyards on the mountain. I strongly recommended this hotel and Iwill come back next time!

LikedBreakfast was well prepared, pretty good choices, nice view on the Rhein. The room is small but comfortable, bed big enough and comfortable. Enough place for luggage, room has table where to put small things. We liked that it also was equipped with water kettle. We appreciated that hotel accepts pets.
DislikedBiggest minus stripping out all plusses was absolotely ignorant evening receptionist. We were not treated as guests, but as no-one, we were ignored. When we arrived at hotel, we put our belongings: documents, souvenirs, electronic devices, local travel maps on the table. There was a kettle and we were very happy to have it, because we wanted to enjoy evening coffee. The kettle smelled strongly of vinegar. OK. We guessed, to keep it sterile. We rinsed it, filled with water and put it on. In the meantime, my wife took a shower and then turned to prepare the coffee. It was a big surprise that the water was no longer in the kettle, but leaked out on the table. There was hot water all over the documents, maps, expensive books, gadgets, etc. My wife pulled everything out of the water and saved all she could. Luckily, large part of the water was absorbed by the towel on the table. I went to the reception to ask what to do and how they would compensate for the damaged books, maps and other things. Person replied that hotel is not responsible for guests' belongings. Receptionist replaced the kettle and organized another (dry) towel. That was all. No excuses, no discount, nothing! I felt like an idiot. Most regrets were about souvenir books we bought couple of hours ago and now they sheets became wrinkled and wet. No way to dry them properly either. What did we conclude from this? We were lucky - no-one got electrocuted! And, there didn't happen bright, energetic fireworks with smoke, smell, firefighters and there were no casualties. Everyone in the hotel was actually put on the risk. Somehow we dried most of our belongings and went to sleep in extremely bad mood. It was also not possible to keep windows open at night because of the crazy, wild, hateful yelling on the street all night long. Some people were drinking on the street just in front of the hotel. Parking at hotel parking was denied, so I had to park in payed place.

LikedThe Hotel Traube is very centrally located and in the immediate vicinity of the famous Drosselgasse. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are good. The reception of the staff is very friendly. For breakfast you have to go to the neighbouring house, but you are then compensated with a first-class and very rich breakfast. All in all, our stay was great and I would come back at any time.
