About Raub

One of the oldest towns in Pahang, Raub has a rich gold mining history and is home to a number of colonial-era buildings. This inland town is encircled by mountain ranges and wildlife reserves, while the central area reveals numerous shopping malls, recreational centres and Asian restaurants.

Things to do in Raub

Outdoor adventurers will find many exhilarating experiences around Raub, including the Jeram Besu Rapids, considered one of the best white-water rafting and kayaking areas in Malaysia with grade two to four rapids. People also frequent the area for jungle trekking, flying foxes and leisurely rubber-boat rafting.

For something a little more chilled out, drive about 20 kilometres to the Bukit Telaga Waterfall, which includes river crossings, verdant forest and areas with white-water rapids. Alternatively, drive 30 kilometres to Lata Jarum Waterfall, where you can picnic next to a series of rapids and swim in a tranquil rock pool encircled by lush native flora.

If you want to stay closer to Raub, head to Raub Lake Park, which boasts jogging trails, boat rentals and numerous fishing spots. It’s only two kilometres from the centre of town and is ideal for a leisurely picnic lunch. Tasik Ria Kundang Puah Recreational Centre is another famous fishing area and is home to a tiny island.
