About Jamberoo

Serving as a gateway to Budderoo National Park, Jamberoo is a picturesque rural village on the South Coast of New South Wales. It was established in the early 19th century by timber getters and later became a dairy farming area. Among the village’s historic buildings are the 1857-built Jamberoo Pub and St Stephen's Presbyterian Church.

Travelling with kids? Spend a day at the Jamberoo Action Park with its water-themed rides, such as the “Perfect Storm”. Nearby is Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures, where you can fly through the canopy on Australia’s highest zip-line or explore along the treetop walkway.

At the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre, you can learn about the natural and cultural history of Budderoo National Park before exploring along one the scenic nature trails. Elevated views across the region can be enjoyed from Barren Grounds Nature Reserve, which has been designated as an Important Bird Area.

Getting there

Jamberoo is around 15 minutes’ drive from Kiama and 30 minutes from Wollongong. Shellharbour Airport is 20 minutes away and has flights to Brisbane and Melbourne. Renting a car is the most convenient way of getting to Jamberoo and the town centre is small enough to explore on foot.
