The Moscow Kremlin is the most prominent citadel of Russia, also referred to as “The Kremlin” situated in the heart of Moscow touched at its base by the Moskva River and adjacent to the complexes of Saint Basil's Cathedral, Red Square and Alexander Garden. It serves as one of Moscow’s reigning tourist attractions as well as the current seat of the President of the Russian Federation. The massive Kremlin encompasses a concentration of widely popular towers, palaces and other buildings.

The most remarkable landmarks of the Moscow Kremlin include the tallest Trinity Gate Tower, which served as a prison in the 16th century, the Senate which is a highly regarded architectural masterpiece, the Poteshny Palace, where the first theatre in Russia resided and the Archangel Cathedral. Additional tourist attractions include the Armoury, which contains a concentration of remarkable gold and silver military treasures and the looming Ivan The Great Bell Tower.

Transportation to the Moscow Kremlin is served by the metro routing out of a concentration of stations including Okhotny Ryad and Biblioteka Imeni Lenina, Teatralnaya, Ploshchad Revolyutsii, Arbatskaya, Alexandrovsky Sad and Borovitskaya. There is a non-site helipad as well that is used by the current President of Russia. Walking is an efficient way of getting between specific complexes.

Moscow Kremlin historically served as a form of military protection dating back to the 2nd century BC. Grand Prince Ivan III initiated the final grand reconstruction that helped transform the fortress into the reigning icon of today.
