About Fermo

The historic town of Fermo is a gateway to the province. Handsome historic buildings frame Palazzo dei Priori, the bustling main square. Markets pop up in the square throughout the summer and attract vendors from across the Province of Fermo.

Swim, sunbathe and devour gelato in Porto San Giorgio. The lively beach town is fringed by a strip of gold sand and features family-friendly cafes and trattorias. Relax on the sand, stroll along the palm-lined promenade and sip Aperol spritz at beachside bars.

Step back in time in Torre di Palme, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Nestled in the hills of the Province of Fermo, the village is built around a medieval castle. Cobbled streets lined with centuries-old buildings crisscross the village and wind up to the castle, where you can enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.

Like most Italian regions, the Province of Fermo has a unique set of culinary traditions. Enjoy specialties like “Maccheroncini Di Campofilone” egg pasta topped with a wine-enriched meat ragu. Pair your meal with wine made from pecorino grapes grown in the Sibillini Mountains. Offida Rosso reds are made with locally grown Montepulciano grapes and have DOCG status.
