the property is very new but the staff are not trained or motivated to go the extra mile (or even the extra meter in some cases) for guests. there was a serious lack of water the first 2 days of our stay (we had booked 8 rooms for our group from the total occupancy of the hotel of 14 rooms). even after this was resolved, the water pressure was seriously low. staff seemed to kind of wander around and if you were lucky enough to get their attention, there was no guarantee if your order / request would get entertained. okay, so i have been to many Anantara hotels around the world and i know open beach resorts with lots of vegetation will get flies and mosquitoes but this property was filled with them. both kids and adults are carrying hideous bite marks on their faces arms and legs. ONLY after a lot of insistence, did the staff get extra mosquito coils for our rooms. Having said that, common outdoor areas did not have ANY protection from this menace. my friends had opted for ocean view rooms (an upgrade from the regular garden and lagoon view category) and had to endure 5 days of construction work going on right outside their windows. Fail to understand why a hotel would open a property and damage its reputation by selling rooms near a construction site!!! Overall, paid the Anantara price (with a small discount for 1 night for inconvenience) but without the Anantara feel. I hope someone is listening and corrects some very basic errors to make this a bearable experience for future unwary travellers.
