    Comfortable Stay

My wife had to attend the Mater Hospital so i booked Charleville Lodge as it is only 10 mins walk away,it is a great guesthouse, it is conveniently located close to a us & bus stop. It is warm & comfortable & the staff were very helpful. They changed our room to a larger one than we had booked and the night porter was very helpful getting us extra tea & milk. I would definitely return & the cost of the accommodation is value for money. We didn’t have breakfast as the hospital appointment was an early one so i cant comment on the cafe. Perhaps on our next visit. Very nice hotel! Silence, clean, warm. Excellent breakfast. The staff was very kind. Good location, near Phoenix Park and 10 min by bus to city center.

Very Small Room, Warm and humid, poor facilities

Hotel Location was good with a 20-30min walk in to the city centre, or the Luas Line stop was a short distance away, there was limited charged parking at the rear of the guest house or there was on-street parking nearby. The Room I had recieved was very small, in fact it was the smallest room I had ever stayed in, the guesthouse is not good value for money as I paid a significat amount for this size of the room, the room consisted of a single bed, a very narrow table, a wardrobe and a bedside locker that was imparactical to get access to. There was a very small window in the room that didn't get musch of a breeze resulting in the room to be extremly warm and humid. There was a fire escape off the room, i was told by reception I was not allowed to oped the fire escape, even though I complained that hte room was very warm and uncomfortable. There was no physcial door between the bedroom and en-suite resulting in the steam entering the bedroom making it very warm and humid. The table did not allow for items to left here such as medication, deoderant etc. The breakfast was good, food was tasty but service was poor, there appeared to be a significant delay in ordering food from the menu, although the food came out relatively prompt. There was also a noise coming from the adjacent room, it sounded like a waste pump from which was quite nosiy. Overalll I would not stay in this hotel again due to the size of the room and the facilities it offered, it represented poor value for money.

    Quirky Boutique Hotel

I will definitely stay here again if I go to Dublin. The service in the reception is great and the beds comfortable, however my friend with back problems thought they were too soft. The bathroom didn't have much space to but our toiletries on. This could be easily fixed by installing a shelf on the wall etc. Also there weren't any hooks anywhere were we could hang our towels. Breakfast is not included but I recommend booking it instead of paying separately in the cafe because then you get a great deal. And the food is so good you don't want to miss it! WiFi is free and worked great at least in our room on the reception floor. The hotel is located near a bus stop (46a) and a tram stop. You have to buy the bus tickets with exact cash, only coins accepted. Super place, with nice friendly staff, a nice bar, and overall no complaints. Food in bar looks good and reasonably priced. Great location as close enough to town, and trendy areas, and to Phoenix Park. Definitely recommended
