    Good Stay

The Mercure at Gare de Lyon is a nice, clean hotel and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops and is good value for the money. I am a frequent traveler to Paris and usually stay closer to Eiffel Tower or on the Champs de Elysee but had made last minute trip and my regular hotels were booked. I knew this Mercure because I had taken the train from Gare de Lyon many times and knew this hotel was safe and clean and it did not disappoint me. The only bad part was the air con that refused to cool the room. We had to sleep with windows open to keep the air circulation going. We were on the second floor. The mgmt offered to change the room but the alternative was just as hot. The hotel reception is friendly and quick to help.
