About North Lebanon

El Koura district is located in the North West Governorate of Lebanon. The towns of Amioun, Enfeh, Deddeh, Kousba and Kfarraakka make up the region that spans from the Mediterranean Sea up to Mount Lebanon.

Things to do in North Lebanon

El Koura is famous for its olive oil production thanks to the broad Koura plains, where you can spend a morning at a local olive orchard taste testing the goods. Afterwards, head to Kimo’s Resto Café for traditional Lebanese cuisine, drizzled with oil.

Mount Lebanon is a mountain range that runs parallel to the coastline. For those into hiking and climbing, it provides an exhilarating adventure where you can spend a day exploring the trails. As you climb to higher elevation, you really start to appreciate El Koura’s true beauty.

Visit the village of Bterram, a small village settled amongst olive trees and surrounded by the White Mountains. With a rich history dating back to the Palaeolithic Ages and home to a crusader religious site, this little village provides an excellent insight into Northern Lebanon from a time gone by.

After you’ve wound your way around the olive orchards, stop at little villages as you go and head to the Great Phoenician Trench, a historical ship building site on the coastline. After you’ve overdosed on Lebanon’s history, head to Manara beach further north up the coast and relax on the sands.
