About Bragança

Ancient stone walls loop around the city of Braganca. The capital of Trás-os-Montes was once a military stronghold and boasts some of the best-preserved medieval architecture in Portugal. Sé is set on the main square and features a modest white façade with beautiful stone doorways and window frames. The tiny cathedral has a peaceful atmosphere and is a lovely example of traditional Portuguese architecture. Arched cloisters wrap around the grass-covered central courtyard.
