About Cetara

You’ll find more than just silver-pebble beaches and crystalline water in Cetara. The dreamy village is set on the Amalfi Coast and is a gourmand’s paradise. Things to do in Cetara

White sunloungers and bright blue umbrellas dot Cetara Spiaggia, Cetara’s main beach. Bask in the Mediterranean sunshine and swim in the shallow, crystal-clear water. Stroll down to Porto di Cetara for postcard-perfect views of whitewashed houses clinging to the cliffside. Pedestrian-only Via Marina hugs the shoreline and treats you to beautiful views of the Amalfi Coast.

Corso Garibaldi, the village’s bustling main street, stretches for two kilometres from the beach up into the valley. Cafes spill onto the cobblestones and serve strong espresso and freshly baked pastries. Venture down narrow lanes and staircases to discover family-run delicatessens and colourful souvenir shops.

Restaurants in Cetara serve some of the best seafood on the Amalfi Coast. Sit down at an atmospheric waterfront trattoria and enjoy local specialties like deep-sea tuna and “linguine alla vongole” spaghetti tossed with clams. You’ll be charmed by the white tablecloths, wooden chairs and chalkboard menus. “Colatura di alici” anchovy sauce is drizzled on pasta, grilled vegetables, salads and roasted fish.

Getting around Cetara

Cetara is pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot. The village is in the Campania region on the eastern end of the Amalfi Coast, a 20-minute drive from Salerno and one hour from Naples. Trains run between Naples and Salerno in 45 minutes. Summer ferries connect Cetara with other villages along the Amalfi Coast, including Maiori, Minori and Positano.
