Coral Beach Nature Reserve offers a glimpse of the Red Sea's kaleidoscopic underwater ecosystem. The protected area stretches for over one kilometre along the coast and boasts crystalline water, rainbow-coloured reefs and a diverse array of sea life.
Gear up for some of Israel's best snorkelling, with a pair of wooden footbridges offering easy access to the reef wall. Bring your own gear or rent a set from one of the stands. Scuba diving is also popular, getting you up close with tropical fish, sea anemones and vivid coral formations. If you're lucky you could spot a cruising Hawksbill sea turtle.
Coral Beach Nature Reserve is also a great place to swim, sunbathe and admire the sparkling Red Sea. The supermarket across the street offers cold drinks and picnic supplies.
Getting there
Coral Beach Nature Reserve is on the Red Sea, a 10-minute drive south of the resort town of Eilat. Local taxis and tour operators make it easy to access the reserve. Limited parking is also available. Coral Beach Nature Reserve is a four-hour drive from Ben Gurion Airport.
