Gurgaon is a leading hotspot of industrialisation and business located in the state of Haryana, India, near the National Capital Region. The capital city of New Delhi is situated about 30 kilometres to the north-east. The city of Gurgaon passed under the rule of several different cultures beginning with the Hindus dating back to the earliest times. In the 1800s it fell under British Rule and in the 1940s beneath the Indian State of Punjab until its final establishment under the rule of Haryana in 1966.
