About Al Manqaf

Part of Kuwait City, Mangaf is a lively neighbourhood set on the coast and fringed by a handful of urban beaches. Mangaf is a great jumping point for those wanting to tick off iconic attraction, such as Kuwait Towers, the Grand Mosque and Souq Al Mubarakeya.

Things to do

Set on the Persian Gulf, Mangaf boasts some of Kuwait's best beaches. It's a great place to escape the city and enjoy the sea breeze, where you can also soak up the sun on a small public beach accessed via Coastal Road.

From mobile phone shops to discount clothing stalls, Mangaf is anchored by a bustling shopping strip known as Al Azeeziya. You'll also find a string of fast-food chains, restaurants and sizzling street-food stalls.

Looking for a day trip? Take a tour of nearby Kuwait City. From calligraphy manuscripts and Arabic oil paintings to musical instruments and Saudi jewellery, the Tareq Rajab Museum houses an incredible collection of Islamic art.

If you want to see iconic landmarks, visit the Kuwait Towers. The three towers rise up as high as 187 metres above the city and feature a blend of traditional Islamic design with contemporary innovation. Designed by the same architect who dreamt up the Sydney Opera House, the National Assembly Building was inspired by a piece of unfurled silk.

Getting around

Kuwait is well-serviced by a network of public buses that run throughout the city, including Mangaf. Taxis are also a fast way to get around, with the drive from Mangaf to Kuwait City taking around 30 minutes.
