Where to stay in Söll

About Söll

Encompassing one of the best-known ski resorts in the SkiWelt - Wilder Kaiser area, Söll is a picturesque village in Austria’s Sölllandl region. It is nestled beneath the conical peak of Hohe Salve, which is traversed by ski and snowboard runs and topped by a church and revolving restaurant offering panoramic views.

Things to do

Stroll through the charming streets of Söll to admire its traditional Tyrolean buildings, several of which feature impressive wall paintings. Be sure to stop by the Parish of Saint Peter and Paul, a Baroque-style church built in the 1760s that is lavishly decorated with a gilded altar, Biblical frescoes and a stunning organ. In the north of the village is a memorial dedicated to the Battle of Wörgl, which took place near Söll in 1809.

In the winter months, you can hit the slopes of the Ski Welt - Wilder Kaiser area, which boasts around 250 kilometres of downhill trails. It offers black and red-classified runs for intermediate and experienced snow enthusiasts, as well as a beginners’ area where beginner skiers and snowboarders can develop their skills.

If you’re riding the cable car that links Söll to the ski area, take the time to stop at Hexenwasser (“Witches’ Water”), a family-friendly theme park that centres around several ponds and rivulets. It’s home to water-themed games, playgrounds and a petting zoo, as well as a dairy and distillery showcasing the region’s local produce. You can stretch your legs along one of the mystical-themed hiking trails while soaking up the views across the Tyrolese Alps.

Getting around

Söll is around an hour’s drive from Innsbruck and Innsbruck Airport, which has flights to destinations across Europe. Buses travel to Söll from towns and villages across the region while ski lifts connect to the surrounding slopes.
