If you want to see the largest dunes in the Canary Islands, take a day trip to nearby Corralejo Natural Reserve, where you’ll find strong winds ideal for surfing.
Discover the traditional local arts and crafts of Fuerteventura at Antigua Windmill Craft Centre. You can learn about its inner workings from the inside, browse the on-site craft centre with its displays of artefacts and paintings, then stroll through the large cactus garden.
Discover Antigua’s most popular delicacy at the Majorero Cheese Museum. You’ll find displays of all things Majorero, which is a local cheese made with goat milk. Located in the Antigua Windmill Craft Centre complex, there are interactive displays, such as a “virtual milking” activity, the production process and a shop selling the finished product.
Visit the Salt Museum to see the unique process of making salt out of the ocean’s waves. This cultural attraction highlights the history of salt in the region and how it’s used for medical, culinary and chemical purposes. It also details some of the different traditions and beliefs attached to salt in different cultures.
