About Aprica

Aprica is a family-friendly ski resort nestled in a picturesque mountain pass. It’s set in the beautiful Camonica Valley and is popular with winter powder hounds and summer sunseekers. Ski and snowboard in the winter or visit in the warmer months to hike, mountain bike and horseback ride in the Bergamo Alps.

North-facing slopes help create perfect conditions to ski and snowboard in Aprica. The resort has a laid-back and family-friendly feel, with trails for all levels. Most are tree-lined and easy to navigate. The après ski scene is lively, with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to enjoy in the village centre.

Work up an appetite on the slopes and refuel with hearty Lombardy cuisine. Risotto is a local specialty and is often cooked with white wine, saffron and lashings of butter. Warm up with a bowl of “ossobuco” braised veal shanks and wash everything down with a glass of full-bodied Nebbiolo.

Spring snowmelt transforms Aprica into an outdoor playground for hikers and mountain bikers. Discover hundreds of kilometres of scenic alpine trails, all with breathtaking views. From leisurely walks through flower-filled meadows to challenging summit trails, there’s something for everyone. You’ll find some of the best trails in the pristine Pian di Gembro Natural Reserve and in Valtellina Orobic Alps Regional Park, where you can spot majestic brown bears.

Day trip to the historic town of Tirano set on the River Adda. Get lost in the winding lanes of the Old Town and admire architectural gems like Renaissance-style Santuario della Madonna Church. From here, you can board the Bernina Express to Saint Moritz. The famous train winds through the mountains and takes you past shimmering glaciers, over sweeping viaducts and past waterfalls dripping with icicles. It’s one of the most scenic train journeys in the world and has been awarded with UNESCO World Heritage status.
