About Gålå

Perched on a mountain plateau, Gålå lies along Norway’s Peer Gynt Road. It’s home to a ski resort that’s a hub for recreational pursuits in both the summer and winter months. It also hosts a 10-day cultural festival where Henrik Ibsen’s famous play is performed.

If you’re a ski enthusiast, hit the slopes of Gålå Fjellgrend, which is renowned for its incredible views. In the warmer months, you can stretch your legs on the hiking trail that winds around the shores of Gålåvatnet, the lake that provides a setting for the annual Peer Gynt Festival.

To immerse yourself in the mythology of Norway, follow the 60-kilometre-long Peer Gynt Road, which winds its way through the mountainous landscapes of Innlandet. There are stunning views across the Gudbrandsdalen Valley at every turn and numerous walking trails to explore along the way.
