Things to do in Laidley

Laidley is anchored by a characterful pioneer village. Climb aboard a vintage tractor, peer into a 100-year-old school room and visit a colonial blacksmith's shop. You can also visit Das Neumann Haus, one of Queensland's oldest heritage homes. It was hand-built by a German immigrant and has been beautifully restored to its former glory.

Winding through lush farmland, the Laidley Valley Drive showcases the natural beauty of the region. Along the way you'll pass scenic lookouts, bubbling creeks and picturesque picnic spots. It's especially scenic in the winter when the mountainous slopes are laced with waterfalls.

Relax on the banks of Lake Dyer, a great place to swim, paddle or enjoy a scenic picnic. It's also a popular fishing spot with the chance to reel in bass, yellow belly and silver perch.

Set in the heart of the Lockyer Valley, the family-owned Bauer's Organic Farm produces some of Queensland's finest produce and has been growing fruit and vegetables since 1885. Take a tour of the farm to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the art of "nude food”.
