About Ravensburg

Home to one of Germany’s most famous game and toy manufacturing companies, Ravensburg is a historic city in Upper Swabia. It was first mentioned in the 11th century and became an important trade hub in the Middle Ages, with its pedestrianised Old Town beautifully preserved.

It was designed by the Stuttgart-based architectural firm Lederer + Ragnarsdóttir + Oei as the first certified passive house museum in the world. In addition to German Expressionist paintings, the museum houses works created by the CoBrA and SPUR art groups.
