Getting around Sofia is a breeze as it benefits from one an excellent public transport system which includes subway trains, trams, buses and trolleys.
Sofia Airport has its origins as a military airport during the late 1930s before reaching its full capacity in the 1960s, necessitating significant expansion and renovation work. After work commenced in 2001, the new Terminal 2 opened up in 2006 to further expand the airport’s capacity and boost its facilities up to modern standards.
