Töölö is the name for many neighbourhoods, Etu -Töölö is the area to the front of the district and Taka-Töölö is located to the rear. The area was constructed due to a housing shortage in the 1920s and 1930s. It was no easy task, as the designers had to consider the rocky terrain and build accordingly. Today, the neighbourhood is noted for its unique, functional architecture, myriad attractions, shops and beautiful parks.
