About University of Nottingham

Founded as the University College Nottingham in 1881, the University of Nottingham is a public tertiary institution granted a royal charter in 1948. In addition to its main campus within the City of Nottingham, the university has satellite campuses across the United Kingdom, Malaysia and China.

Embark on a self-guided tour of the University Park Campus, which is centred around a lake and a clock tower west of Nottingham’s city centre. It has won various awards for its architecture and “green” design and features interesting art galleries of the D.H. Lawrence Pavilion and Millennium Park.

Located north of the University Park Campus is the Jubilee Campus, which was designed by renowned English architect, Sir Michael Hopkins. Admire its modern buildings and state-of-the-art facilities, as well as the 60-metre-tall Aspire. It’s the tallest freestanding structure in the United Kingdom.

The University of Nottingham is a five-minute drive from central Nottingham and Nottingham railway station, with numerous bus routes and trams stopping along the edge of the campus. Birmingham and Birmingham Airport are around an hour’s drive away.
