The exterior of the temple is architecturally striking, adorned with intricate deities decorated in bright colours. The interior is peaceful and serene, filled with sculptures and figurines. Explore the vibrant markets and shopping malls of Little India around Serangoon Road, it’s the ideal place to pick up aromatic spices, bejewelled textiles, handicrafts, and souvenirs. The district also has an exceptional array of restaurants, each serving their own creative Indian cuisine. Alternatively, for International gastronomy, the entertainment area of Clarke Quay is a short walk away. To enjoy a relaxing pastime, head for Botanic Gardens Singapore. With dense rainforests, bonsai gardens, the national orchid garden and picturesque lakes, it’s the ideal place to spend a sunny afternoon. Alternatively, the National Museum of Singapore with its rich history and myriad, ancient artefacts is around 15 minutes’ walk. The entire family will adore a day or evening at Gardens by the Bay on the waterfront. This is one of the most popular attractions in Singapore and it’s easy to see why. Discover the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome and the huge sculptures on display. The true magic begins at dusk when the giant Supertrees illuminate, turning the area into a mesmerising wonderland.

Reaching Little India is easy. The northeast MRT line transports visitors to the stations of Farrer Park and Little India, a few minutes’ walk from Serangoon Road. Bugis Station is the entry point from the East West Line. Sunday’s are particularly busy in this area, therefore, book any taxi’s for the weekends in advance. Little India is walking distance to Gardens by the Bay and Clarke Quay, each taking around 30-40 minutes.

Little India’s location close to Serangoon River originally ensured it was a good place to raise cattle and trade livestock.
