About Woodlands

Positioned near the Singapore-Malaysia border, Woodlands features a collection of enticing waterfront parks, town gardens and an inspiring war memorial. Chill out around the centre of town with cosmopolitan shopping centres and dining hubs or take advantage of the direct bridge access to Malaysia.

Things to do in Woodlands

Embrace the outdoors in Woodlands by hanging out in the 27-hectare expanse of Admiralty Park, which features a central waterway called Sungei Cine, hilly terrain and mangrove swampland filled with unique flora and fauna. There are running tracks and fitness stations throughout the national park. If you get hungry, wander over to Rasa Istimewa Waterfront Restaurant for succulent seafood.

Are you interested in Singapore’s war history? Visit the Kranji War Memorial, which commemorates the thousands of Allied troops who died defending Singapore and Malaysia from Japanese invasion during World War II. You can also visit the Marsiling Tunnels, which are said to have been used by British soldiers to get around the Woodlands underground.

If you feel like shopping, head to the central Causeway Point Shopping Centre, which houses almost 250 retail and dining outlets, including Adidas, Asus, Everlast and Kiddy Palace. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, grab delicious ramen at Ajisen Ramen or authentic Thai cuisine at Bali Thai.

Woodlands is one of two towns with a bridge across to Malaysia, giving you convenient access to the circa-1942 Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim landmark building and the Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum, which houses musical instruments, old money, photographs, artwork and other artefacts on the historic Chinese community of Johor Bahru.

Getting around Woodlands

Woodlands is serviced by three MRT stations and multiple bus interchanges, which both provide easy transport around the town and to the rest of Singapore. You can drive your own car or catch taxis to get around.
