About Sengkang

A former fishing village, Sengkang features two picturesque rivers with waterfront parklands and sporting facilities, as well as walking trails dotted with cafes and restaurants. You’ll also find a variety of reverent churches and mosques that sit next to contemporary shopping malls and tea houses.

Things to do in Sengkang

Sengkang Riverside Park features Singapore’s largest man-made wetland, home to mangrove birds, damselflies and unique marshland flora. Stroll along the walking trails, enjoy a picnic in one of the shelters or pick exotic fruits off the trees. When you get peckish, duck into the park’s Mushroom Cafe, a casual eatery with coffee and light lunches.

Across the river you’ll find Sengkang Sports Centre, where you can swim in indoor and outdoor pools, sweat away stress in the gym or watch locals play hockey at Sengkang Hockey Stadium. If you want to stay active, go for a jog along the Sungei Serangoon Park Connector, which leads along the Punggol Serangoon Reservoir.

Have you got a craving for some shopping? Head over to Compass One, an eight-storey suburban shopping mall with over 200 retail and dining outlets. The kids can also play in the wet and dry playgrounds on level four. For classic Singaporean brands, shop at Rivervale Plaza, which has a florist, pawn shop, fish store and other specialty stores.

Sengkang is ideally located near Seletar Country Club, where you can tee off on an 18-hole championship golf course overlooking the pristine Lower Seletar Reservoir.
